Order and register
Place your order; the kit ships within 2–3 business days. Use the code in the box to open your TWINbiome account and complete the short dietary questionnaire.

Collect the sample
Follow the guide and collect your sample at home in 5 minutes. In the preservation fluid it stays stable at room temperature for up to 14 days.

Return shipping
Send the box back with the prepaid label; you are notified in the dashboard when it reaches the lab.

Shotgun metagenomic sequencing and the TWINbiome bioinformatics pipeline. Typical turnaround: 4–6 weeks from arrival at the lab.

I have questions firstFrequently asked questions
What is the difference between shotgun metagenomics and 16S?
16S reads a single gene region and usually identifies bacteria at genus level. Shotgun metagenomics sequences all DNA in the sample, giving species- and strain-level identity together with functional genes (for example butyrate production).
How long do results take?
On average 4–6 weeks after the sample reaches the lab. Sequencing batches and demand can affect this; if there is a delay you are informed in the dashboard.
What if I am taking antibiotics or probiotics?
We recommend sampling at least 4 weeks after finishing a course of antibiotics. Probiotics do not prevent analysis; noting them in the questionnaire is enough for us to interpret correctly.
How is my data stored?
Samples are processed under an anonymous code; your identity and sequencing data are kept separately. Data is hosted in Turkey under KVKK; you can request deletion at any time. See the data protection notice for details.
Can I share the report with my doctor?
Yes. The report can be downloaded as a PDF, and the dashboard's share link gives your physician or dietitian time-limited access.
When is a repeat test meaningful?
Dietary changes usually take 8–12 weeks to show in the microbiome. A second test at the end of the 90-day roadmap lets you compare the change in the dashboard.
